OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition Has 10GB Of RAM But It Still Can’t Beat The iPhone In A Speed Test

The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is probably one of the fastest Android smartphones out there. It’s got 10GB of RAM and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset. However, that is where the smartphone is crippled when it comes to being the fastest smartphone. Apple may have not launched an exciting smartphone this year, however, the company’s new A12 Bionic Chipset and iOS 12 are fine-tuned in tandem with each other to give the best performance on a smartphone ever.

It’s no secret that a smartphone’s speed depends not only on RAM but the SoC it’s being powered with for optimum speed. Qualcomm’s 845 chipsets simply do not have enough juice to take on Apple’s proprietary chipset. That has been the story for a few years now; however, the A12 Bionic is simply unbeatable right now as it offers significantly overall improved performance while using less power.

A Youtube channel by the name of PhoneBuff set out to put the two smartphones against each other. The YouTuber pitted the two smartphones against each other to find out which smartphone is faster. The McLaren Edition of OnePlus 6T offers 10GB of RAM and is one of the first smartphones to offer this configuration in India. What’s worthy to note is that the iPhone XS Max has only 4GB of RAM.

In the video, we can see that the OnePlus 6T was faster in initial speed tests; however the iPhone managed to beat it in the end when it came to overall performance. The video is proof that it’s not only about the RAM as the iPhone XS Max managed to beat a smartphone with 10GB RAM with its measly 4GB RAM under the hood. If you don’t believe us, you can watch the video for yourself below and see how the iPhone XS managed to defeat the OP6T McLaren edition.
